Principal Oracle Consultant \ Team Lead

With the steady growth of the Oracle side of our business, SQL Services are now looking to appoint a Principal Oracle Consultant; to assist us in further defining our direction, building upon our service offerings and leading our experienced team of Senior Oracle Consultants. This unique position is both autonomous and location-independent, you can choose between the 3 main data hubs of New Zealand – Nelson, Auckland or Wellington! If you like being micro-managed, then this role isn’t for you; we’re after a self-starter, someone who is driven and passionate about Oracle and it’s place in the market, someone with business savvy and their own opinions about the best way forward.

You will need to have experience and be comfortable with leading and mentoring a team of DBA’s, debating ideas with management, technical discussions with clients as well as presenting to groups; and yet still have both feet on the ground and be prepared to get your hands dirty with real DBA work. This role will assist in the delivery of our Managed and Professional Services and so you will need to have strong technical skills but equally important is excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of building customer, partner and internal relationships through professional service delivery.

You will demonstrate that you can take projects from an initial approach through consulting, design, implementation and support phases independently, while drawing on the strengths of our internal DBA team.
