This presentation is based on keynote presentations I gave at AUSOUG conferences in 2009 and 2010. Oracle has been a dominant technology company for more than a generation, and many of us have established very successful careers around Oracle technologies. However, it’s always prudent to consider whether one’s speciality is a good bet for the future. In other words, will Oracle technology dominate the next generation? In this light hearted presentation, Oracle Ace Guy Harrison will briefly review the history of Oracle Corporation and look at the technology trends that shaped the Oracle of today, and how these technology trends are determining the databases and applications of the future.
