Database as a Service (DBaaS) Cloud: HA Architecture and Consolidation Methods

As IT organizations look ways to deliver the consolidated and shared infrastructure for their databases, Oracle Database as Service (DBaaS) cloud solution can be the answer to their demand. This session will discuss the design consideration and implementation best practices to ensure the high availability of DBaaS cloud through Oracle RAC and the latest Oracle 12c new HA features such as Application Continuity and Transaction Guard and Flex ASM. Through the implementation case studies in our own IT, this presentation will also examine and compare various database consolidation methods for achieving the multitenant database architecture such as virtualization, platform consolidation, pluggable database and schema consolidation.
