Applying Traditional DBA Skills to Oracle Exadata

Oracle Exadata presents a new set of concepts that can be overwhelming for Oracle DBAs - InfiniBand, Storage Servers, CellCLI, bundle patches, and others. Yet Oracle Exadata still runs Oracle database software, and makes heavy use of well-known RAC and ASM technology. Beginning starts with Oracle Exadata's architecture, this presentation shows where traditional database, storage, network, and operating concepts are in use. It moves on to discuss the Oracle Exadata's secret sauce, and the skills DBAs need to make best use of it.
