If you lose your primary database environment for a day or even an hour due to a disaster (human error, natural or any other), what would the impact to your business be? Would you lose money, clients or your reputation? What if you lost the whole datacenter hosting your 4-node RAC environment? This is where Disaster Recovery comes into play. If your disaster recovery plan is in place, you could just activate it. In most cases this means that you start the change control process, switch over to your “hot” standby databases in a secondary datacenter, which may be in a different geographical location. In this session you will be taken on a journey on what Disaster Recovery is and how using Oracle Standby database technology you can implement a solution that can save you a lot of headache and money when disaster strikes.
