Application Express Within New Zealand Post
NZ Post's goal is to have quality address data services. The National Postal Address Database (NPAD) is the single source of accurate address data, however updating alternative address nformation in a timely manner can be a complex database task. Application Express was utilised to create NPAD Data Attributes Maintenance (NDAM). This is integrated with the NZPOST business directory and updates data in real time. The implementation has drastically reduced resource requirements and provides improved control over quality. What a time saver, want to know more?

David Thornburrow currently works for New Zealand Post as a Senior Data Architect. He has a Bachelors Degree in Applied Information Systems and is an Oracle Certified Professional. Over 14 years work experience in the IT industry, with the last couple of years, solely dedicated to building and enhancing New Zealand's Post's National Postal Address Database (NPAD). NPAD was recognised for a Special Achievement in GIS Award at the San Diego International ESRI User conference in 2006. On the personal front he is happily married (even after 10 years), with 2 young kids, and lives in Wellington, NZ.
